A Card Bet-The Secret to the Trick!
The Secret:
When the deck is shuffled, you must notice the bottom card of the deck. Once you know the bottom card of the deck, the trick is over and the rest is showmanship... When you ask the spectator to take any card they must be instructed to place the card on top of the deck. Do not make this out to be some big deal. Casually take the cards and gesture to them, "Place your card here on the deck." Once the card is returned to the top of the deck you offer to have the cards cut. Believe it or not, you can cut the cards for hours and the chosen card will always be the card directly before the chosen card. At this point, all you have to do is turn over the cards one at a time until you pass the card that you know from the bottom of the original deck. Eventually, you will offer the "bet" and then you will know which card on the table is the correct card to "turn over next!" This entire effect is acting. Be sure to suck them in good. You want them to think you are about to fail. Look certain that the next card coming off the top of the deck in going to be their card!

Tip: If the cards are only cut once, you will know about where the chosen card will turn up.
Practice noticing the bottom card of the deck when shuffling. You will be amazed at how much of the bottom of the deck is shown when others shuffle as well. People tend to shuffle away from themselves unless they are really familiar with cards or gambling! Have FUN!
