Last months trivia question asked if you have to be born with special abilities to do magic.
Yes!... and no. Similar to someone who can play the piano by ear, you have to be born with certain advantages. Some people have spacial gifts, others musical, others mathematical, etc. I believe to have an "ability" with magic, one is truly born with a higher degree of observation, intuition and problem solving. However, anyone can start learning basic magic today- even including misdirection and sleight of hand. To take the magic to a level that defies logic is another story. There is a big difference between a trick and magic. Just like the piano, any can start practicing today but only a few will every become accomplished pianist.
